CONFIRMATION FORM
As you may
be aware we are the first child activist group formed in South
Africa in 1994, thanks to 702 and their listeners. While we seem
to rather quiet in the face of the horrific child abuse cases
covered in the media, we are very much on the ground but because
of our financial constraints cannot be very visual. We are still
the only true 24hour help line available countrywide and, to the
best of our ability, assist any child or caregiver that approaches
our Group with advise and even hold their hands through the trial
and warn them of the possible pitfalls.
Child
Abuse Action Group has been active at various forums, such as, NPA
(National Plan of Action for Children), GPAC (Gauteng Plan of Action
for Children), gave input to the Law Commission regarding improved
Bail Conditions, Sexual Offences Act, the Children’s Bill and many
more. Presently, we are submitting our views to the Law Reform Commission’s
Draft Bill on Human Trafficking with special interest to the handling
of children.
As
a Group we are prepared to workshop the Protocol of Child Abuse
and Neglect right down to community levels as we believe the man
and woman in the street do not either know or understand what child
abuse is. The public at large are unaware of the effects of abuse
on themselves and society.
Your
participation at our Golf Day would be appreciated, as you will
boost our financial coffers so that we can work even more extensively.
Come and enjoy the day and make a difference to the children of
our nation!
Looking forward to hearing from you soon.
Yours
in child protection
